In a crisis situation, family members or friends can, if they wish, make a tracing request concerning a person who is travelling or residing in a crisis area.
A family tracing request means submission of
- the personal details of a person who is staying or residing abroad
- the valid contact details during the journey
- details concerning the journey
- other information concerning the person
Submitting a tracing enquiry is completely voluntary.
Personal information entered in the service will never be disclosed for other than necessary official purposes. Retention of the data is based on the Consular Services Act.
